Celcom getting ready to launch 4G LTE Service

Celcom is getting ready to launch their Celcom 4G LTE as shown at their booth above.
However, it seems Maxis has beat all other telcos by launching their Maxis 4G LTE on Jan. 1, 2013.

[News] - Maxis the 1st Operator in Malaysia to Launch 4G LTE with 75 Mbps Speed

The start of the new day and the start of 2013 New Year, Maxis become the first operator in Malaysia to offer 4G LTE 2600.

At the moment, it seems they only support LTE USB Dongle and some coverage areas. However, it was known that Nokia Smartphones such as Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 supported LTE 2600 band but it seems Maxis did not take this opportunity to package their 4G plans. Not sure what's the reason...

NOTE:

The Service speed is on a best effort basis. The typical average speed for the 7.2Mbps modem is 2Mbps; 21Mbps MiFi and PortaFi modem is 5 Mbps; 42Mbps USB modem is 10Mbps. Typical average speed for 75Mbps modem is between 10Mbps to 30Mbps

Maxis One Club has 2 membership tiers - Elite and Select.

In order to qualify for Elite status, you will need to use an average of at least RM1000 per month (for 12 months) on Maxis mobile services registered under your name. You must also have a minimum tenure of one year with good credit history.

In order to qualify for Select status, you will need to use an average of at least RM150 per month (for 12 months) on Maxis mobile services registered under your name. You must also have a minimum tenure of one year with good credit history.

Finally the wait is over for Malaysian iPhone fans!

Its gonna be Dec. 16, 2011 as what has been rumored in Low Yat Net Forum.

However, I have purchased this awesome gadget much earlier... ;-)

Celcom defer iPhone 4S launch from Nov. 26, 2011

A ‘little bird” revealed that Celcom would have launch their iPhone 4S on Nov. 26 which is to be 1 day (Nov. 25, 2011) after Maxis launch., but unfortunately for unknown reasons, the launch has been deferred with no specific date.
However today Apple Online US have recently opened for orders without contract.
This can be the other reason why Malaysia is being deferred - to control and manage to worldwide shortage of iPhone 4S.
