New iPad - New Kid on the Block (Delivery Date)

Finally received my new iPad on April 23, 2012.
New iPad 3 launched on April 20 (Friday) in Malaysia. Ordered online with free engraving.
It seems that people can now just walk in to any Apple Resellers in Malaysia and buy the new iPad. No need to queue like the previous iPad 1 and iPad 2 launches.
However, the delivery of this purchase from Apple Online is very fast!
I also purchased the Smart Cover.

iPad 3 to be launch in March 2012

Digitimes reported that the new iPad 3 is expected to be launch in Q2 2012.

“Apple's new generation iPad will enter mass production soon with the launch set for March 2012, according to sources from the upstream supply chain; however, the sources revealed that internally Apple does not view the new iPad product as iPad 3, but rather an upgraded iPad 2 and the real iPad 3 will not be launched until the third quarter of 2012 at the earliest.
The iPad 2 upgrade will be thinner than iPad 2, and will offer longer battery life. Due to the Lunar New Year holidays in China in January, Apple has decided to start small volume shipments in the fourth quarter of 2011, the sources noted.
Some channel retailers also pointed out that iPad 2 is still the most popular tablet PC product in the IT market currently and Apple has no need to rush to launch a new model.”

iPhone 5 and iPad 3 (Sept-Oct. 2011)...?

Oh yes! iPhone 5 and iPad 3. Great timing!
Rumours for iPhone 5 is almost certain to be true...but iPad 3? Too soon?

[Source: Macrumors]

DigiTimes reports that upstream suppliers in Apple's manufacturing chain have been given orders to begin preparing for production of next-generation iPhone and iPad, with a debut expected in the September-October timeframe.

Taiwan-based companies included in the supply chain for iPhone 5 and iPad 3 have begun to prepare materials for the production of the two devices, which are likely to make their debuts in September and to hit the market in October, according to industry sources. ... The sources pointed out that Apple only plans to launch one model of the new iPhone, while iPad 3 has just recently been added to the production schedule with both set to be produced in small volumes in August and the volume will start picking up in September and October.

While Apple has been widely rumored to be preparing to launch its next-generation iPhone within that timeframe, a new iPad has been a controversial topic. A number of sources have reported that Apple may introduce an updated iPad just months after the release of the iPad 2 as the company seeks to maintain its stranglehold on the tablet market in the face of rapidly-increasing competition, but those claims have been met with skepticism by others expecting Apple to roughly stick to its usual annual update cycle.

According to the today's report, the new iPad will likely be thinner and lighter than the current iPad 2 and will support a display resolution of approximately 250 dpi, which would be double that of the iPad and iPad 2.
