iPad Air and iPad Mini Retina will ship in 41 Countries on 1st November, 2013

Apple announced the iPad Air and iPad Mini retina will be ship on November 1, 2013.

Here’s the full country list for the iPad Air: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finalnd, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lichtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK, and the US.

And guess what? Malaysia is not in the list!

Next Apple Device called "Air" - Combination of iPad Air and Macbook Air

With Apple's latest announcement of iPad Air, it seems that Apple is planning for a new product that might combined both the Macbook Air and the iPad Air. We have seen several products already in the market that can become a laptop and a tablet (keyboard plus touchscreen).

Below are the reasons why I am thinking Apple might release their upcoming product which can combine both capability:

  1. Apple Launchpad - This feature has been there even before Mavericks but never being used extensively. Reason being, Launchpad is meant to be use just like the iOS device (iPad and iPhone) with a touch screen.
  2. What's after Mavericks 10.9? It could be the total revamp of Mac OS X that might be called Mac OS X 11.0. This is a big jump.
  3. iPad Air - The name "Air" itself have already being given an indication that its the tablet version of "Macbook Air".
  4. Power savings technology by Apple - great strides with their new way of power savings
  5. Common 64-bit architecture.

What do you think? Does it make sense? Will it be available next year (2014) or 2015? Its unlikely to be 2014 since Mac OS X Mavericks 10.9 just being release this year. We would expect another two years before a total revamp Mac OS X will be announce.

Today, Apple has revealed two new iPads - iPad Air and the iPad Mini with Retina. below is chart comparison.

One very interesting thing about the chart, when you see each iPad side-by-side, is that now, the newer iPad mini is actually just as good as the flagship iPad Air.

Which iPad will you buy next?

[Video] - Review of Waterfield Designs Staad Backpack

This looks like an awesome Backpack. Looks quite professional - ever wondered how to carry a backpack to a meeting room full of professionals? Sometimes I felt quite weird in carrying my leather backpack in an official function and wearing a suit. Maybe this kind of quality backpack gives a more professional look.
It comes in two sizes (USD 319 for a smaller one and USD 329 for a bigger one)
What do you think?

iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S price in Malaysia.

I was trying to find and compare the prices of iPhone 5 from Malaysia Apple Online Store but couldn't find it anymore. Instead, I can only find the price of iPhone 4S 8GB model ONLY (RM 1499 with 24 hours expected delivery time). Weird, why it didn't display the latest iPhone 5 price.

The price of iPhone 5 by Senheng outlets are:

iPhone 5 16GB – RM2,199
iPhone 5 32GB – RM2,499
iPhone 5 64GB – RM2,799

And recently, Malaysian Wireless managed to get an insider information about the price of iPhone 5C and 5S.

iPhone 5C (16GB) - RM1899

iPhone 5S (16GB) - RM2299
iPhone 5S (32GB) - RM2599
iPhone 5S (64GB) - RM2899

Maybe we just need to wait till Oct. 31 to get the actual prices. Normally Apple will sell their iPhones very much different from the previous models. It could be the same as the last ones. But Malaysians like any other Apple fans around the world will face the challenge to get their hands on the Gold color iPhone 5S since its shortage worldwide.

Oct. 18 Release Date for Android Kit Kat 4.4 - Everybody dance now

This new date comes from a post over at the official KitKat Google+ page, with a rather ambiguous and "hidden" “Everybody dance now” message.

This could be a reference to the hit single of the same title made by the American dance group C+C Music Factory. That song had a length of 4 minutes and 4 seconds (however the Youtube video is longer than that), the same double 4 of the upcoming Android version.

This song was released on October 18, 1990, which leads us to believe that Google has chosen Oct. 18 as the date to also make its own release of Android 4.4 Kit Kat.

What do you think? Can we dance now? Yeah....!!

 iPad 5
  • The iPad 5 will retain its 9.7-inch retina display,

Untethered Jailbreak iOS 7-7.0.2

This 7jailbreak.com looks very legitimate which includes the way to Jailbreak.
I was cautious not to try with my iPhone 5 but tempted to try on my iPad Mini. It got stucked in the middle if the process which leads me to investigate further.
Finally, I found that this website a scam website that does an on-device survey scam.
That's why I wondered why they required as to download an app first. Also it did not show the Cydia icon. (Take note of the YouTube video - which Channel created this?)

Panasonic Wireless Charger with Nexus 7

I have been using the Panasonic Wireless Charger with my Nexus 4 for quite sometime. Unfortunately, I have to open the Nexus 4 case whenever I need to wireless charge it. Thus, I am worried if I get another case for my Nexus 7, it will face a similar problem.

I read many reviews regarding Poetic Slimline case and finally decided to purchase it. The video below shows there is no issues of using this Case. It seamlessly charged! Awesome and I fully recommended this Case!

I also have uploaded another video which showed it can also charged through another wireless charger from PowerQi.

iPhone 5S Official Review - What's New, Features & Should I Buy / Upgrade?

It seems that if you are already on iPhone 5, its not worth the upgrade. Other than a higher processor A7, Touch ID, higher battery capacity and better camera sensor (but still 8MP resolution) - there are not much reasons for me to upgrade my iPhone 5 to the 5S. I might as well keep my well-earned money on other gadgets. Let's see what Google have in store this month? Nexus 5 and Nexus 10? How about Google Watch?

How about you?

Staad Laptop BackPack by WaterField Designs - SFbags

This is one beautiful backpack fits for a boss walking to the office. How I wish, I could have save my money and just buy this ONE bag rather than buying several bags. It looks very solid, rugged but also professional.
This is the latest product from WaterField Designs and will be ship within the next few days.
The price is USD 319 for Slim and USD 329 for Stout size. The slim version looks neat but if you carry around so many gadgets, I suggest get the Stout size.

[Video] - Poetic Slimline Case Can Still Wireless Charge

I have been asking around for a best and affordable Case for my Nexus 7 (2013). There are two most popular ones around i.e. the original one from Asus and Poetic (recently Google also introduce their own Case but its quite expensive). I decided to get Poetic since someone from the G+ Community Forum said its compatible with the Wireless Charger. The video below shows the proof.

[HOW-TO] - The Easiest and Safest Way to Unroot and Root Nexus 7 (2013) LTE and Nexus 4

I have tried several options - i.e. using the SuperSU to Unroot but somehow its not that "clean" and have some errors during Reboot to Recovery (even having the Android logo with the red exclamation mark).

Thus, with several retries, I found out the best and safest method would be using Skipsoft Android Toolkit. The latest Nexus 7 (2013) Toolkit at V 1.0.6
(Note: Please ensure you enable Settings --> Storage --> USB Connection --> Camera (PTP) to allow the PC recognise the device).

After the device has been unrooted, we can still use the Toolkit to Root the device back.
[NOTE: Its advisable to purchase/donate 4 Pounds to get the latest Nexus 4 Toolkit. It will solve many of the "pains" of Rooting/Unrooting Android 4.3 for Nexus 4].

[HOW-TO] - Unroot Any Rooted Android Device! [Using SuperSU]

[HOW-TO] - Root Nexus 4, 10 and Galaxy Nexus using SuperSU (Android 4.3)

Root Nexus 4, 10 and Galaxy Nexus using SuperSU

Requirements:
  • Android SDK configured on your computer
  • Custom recovery like ClockworkMod or TWRP which you can flash using the Nexus Root Toolkit.
  • Nexus 4, 10 or Galaxy Nexus with unlocked bootloader which you can have using the Nexus Root Toolkit mentioned above
  • SuperSU 1.50 by Chainfire [download]
Procedure:
Step 1: Download the SuperSU ZIP package and transfer it to the root of your device.
Step 2: (Optional) If you don’t have a custom recovery installed, do it now using your preferred method (ideally you’d want to do that via fastboot).
Step 3: Boot the device into recovery and flash the SuperSU ZIP file.
Step 4: After you’ve flashed the superuser package, wipe cache and dalvik cache, just to be on the safe side.
Step 5: Reboot.
That’s it – your Nexus 4, 10 or Galaxy Nexus is now running rooted Android 4.3.

Enable PTP to get your ADB recognize the Device
